Lil' Kim
Wins Suit Over Lil' Cease
8/11/2005 - Lil' Kim Wins
Suit Over Lil' Cease
Lil’ Kim won a legal battle Wednesday
against James "Lil' Cease" Lloyd and Ground Zero
Entertainment, who were trying to release a DVD with
the female rapper’s image.
The order was handed down by U.S. District Judge Jed
Rakoff on Wednesday when Lil’ Cease failed to appear
in court for the civil lawsuit. Lil’ Kim wasn’t
required to appear in the Manhattan court.
As previously reported, Cease attempted to release
"The Chronicles of Junior M.A.F.I.A. Part II:
Reloaded," a DVD that would use Kim’s name and
image.
Cease served as a trial witness during Kim's perjury
case, helping to corroborate her false statements
about her association with two men involved in a
2001 shootout outside New York radio station Hot 97.
According to Cease, the DVD would explain his and
fellow Junior M.A.F.I.A. rapper Antoine "Banger"
Spain’s testimony at the Lil’ Kim perjury trial
earlier this year. Cease told AllHipHop.com, "We're
giving it to y'all real raw, real uncensored. I went
and got all the evidence, all the paperwork to show
what really happened [during the trial]."
On July 6, Kim was sentenced to a year and a day in
prison for lying to a grand jury. She is required to
surrender to authorities on September 19.
Lil’ Kim, Cease and Junior M.A.F.I.A. once rapped
under the tutelage of the late Notorious B.I.G. Kim
lashes out on her former cohorts on “My N***as,” a
track from her upcoming CD The Naked Truth. She
compares Lil' Cease and Junior M.AF.I.A. to private
parts of the female anatomy.
